Where to cash a cashier’s check
The bank named on a cashier’s check is the obvious place to cash it. Walmart cashes them too, for at most $4 up to $1,000 and $8 above, within its $5,000 limit. Amscot in Florida charges 4.9%. Cash App deposits them free; Chime refuses them. Deposited in person at a bank, a cashier’s check must be available the next business day.

Deposit instead of cashing
Treasury checks deposited by the payee get next-business-day availability; so do USPS money orders, cashier's, certified and teller's checks and state or local government checks when deposited in person to a bank employee. That makes a deposit into your own account nearly as quick as cash for a cashier’s check, at no fee.
